About Emergency Alerts
Stay Informed in an Emergency! Delta County offers multiple ways to receive alerts.
Delta County Emergency Management encourages residents to have a layered approach to emergency alerts to ensure everyone receives critical information about active emergencies which may affect them and their family in multiple formats and the language you prefer when minutes matter most.
You choose how you want to be notified
The Delta County Alerts platform is powered by Genasys Alert®, an online mass notification solution. The system sends alerts to registered contacts in the system but alerts can also be pushed to the Genasys Connect® App which uses cell phone location data for alerts active near your current location, not just your home address. Delta County has also partnered with ReachWell® to push alerts from Delta County Alerts to residents and visitors via the ReachWell® App in 130+ languages so everyone receives alerts in their native language. These systems are interconnected and we recommend that you sign up to receive alerts via all three methods to ensure you never miss an alert! Below is a summary of each way Delta Count Alerts can reach you.
Delta County Alerts - An Overview Alert Method:Features and ways you will be notified: Delta County Alerts

- Works with cell phones and landlines
- Alerts are sent based on your registered home address and other address points you enter into the system.
- We recommend you register your home and work address to receive alerts where you spend the most time - you can register multiple addresses including those of family members or areas in the county you spend a lot of time such as church, your kid's school or recreation areas

If I register my home address in Delta County Alerts and I go out of town, will I still be notified if something happens near my home?
Yes! Delta County Alerts will send you a phone call, text and email if the alert polygon includes your registered address(es). You will receive those notifications as long as your device has internet/cellular connectivity. If you are in a remote area with no cell phone service or WIFI then you will not be alerted until you return to service. If you download the ReachWell® App and follow Delta County Alerts, you will also be alerted once you have service because the ReachWell App pushes all alerts issued by Delta County to your phone.
Note - if you are traveling or staying an extended time in another county or out-of-state, we recommend you sign up for emergency alerts in that county as each county has their own emergency notification system and Delta County Alerts pushes alerts to Delta County, CO residents and can't alert you of incidents in other counties or states when traveling.
Delta County Emergency Management on behalf of Delta County Alerts has partnered with ReachWell® to bring inclusive emergency alerts in multiple languages to Delta County residents and tourists. The ReachWell® mobile application is free via your phone's app store and allows the county, emergency management and first responders to issue emergency alerts and advisories in up to 130 languages. A recent study has shown over 250,000 people in Colorado have a native language other than English and more than 500,000 people in the state have a hearing and/or visual disability. Adoption of the ReachWell® App enables Delta County to share critical, timely emergency alerts with residents and visitors to our county in their preferred language which is critical to ensuring the whole community is safe and alerted during an emergency.
Benefits of Downloading the ReachWell® App:
