Investigations

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division's mission is to effectively and efficiently investigate crimes in the unincorporated sections of Delta County, to improve the lives of its citizens and visitors, and to promote a safer community.

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) provides professional investigative services for Delta County. CID is responsible for the investigation of crimes committed in the unincorporated sections of Delta County by both adults and juveniles. The broad spectrum of crimes include: murder, robbery, arson, burglary, financial crime, theft, juvenile crime, sexual and physical abuse, and the exploitation of children. The Division is also tasked with counter-drug operations within Delta County.
Sheriff Investigations
In most cases, CID conducts follow-up investigations after a report has been made to the Patrol Division. Motivated only by a search for the truth, investigators seek and collect all available evidence surrounding each case in order to determine the facts of the situation. As professional fact finders, CID conducts systematic and methodical investigations to determine facts supported by the evidence. Investigators then submit their findings to the District Attorney for review.

The CID is made up of four full-time investigators who bring a variety of skills to the Division that combine to make an effective team. CID works closely with other local, state, and federal, agencies, including the 7th Judicial Drug Task Force, and the 7th Judicial Critical Incident Team (CIT) as well as other government agencies, to counter and investigate the most serious crimes.
